I didn't plan for another Christian Andersen story, but in March 2014, he returned in A Christian Easter. As a novelette, it was a quick and easy read, and gave readers a glimpse at his frustration at keeping Christ as the focus to his children. With this third installment on Christian Andersen, I compiled the stories for the Love for the Holidays anthology. His older brother, Nathan, wrapped up the Andersen brothers series with A NOELLE FOR NATHAN this year.

Day 18 or 25 Titles in December A Woman After David's Heart

On January 4th, A Woman After David's Heart kicked off my 2014 releases. I did a twist on 'David was a man after God's own heart' with A Woman After David's Heart. What are the qualities that draw a man to a woman? Only David had the answer. Once I had a title, I remembered Christian Andersen (A Christian Christmas) had a brother named David. Without realizing it, I had created a sequel. So get a jump start on your Valentine treat with this one. Day 17 of 25 Titles in December A Baby for Christmas

With my hectic writing schedule to meet deadlines for 2014, there was no way I planned to write a Christmas novella for 2013. My declaration was deemed unacceptable by my two writing cohorts Vanessa Miller and Lisa Watson. Like department stores, Christmas sales could make up 1/3 of an author's yearly salary. However, my sanity told me to skip this year and hope A Christian Christmas(2012) would have a good second run. Besides, the only character in my head was Solae from Stopping Traffic, but it wasn't a Christmas theme, or so I thought. Plus, my other excuse was I didn't have a title! Vanessa and Lisa wouldn't back off, so I prayed and began to weave a tale so touching that A Baby for Christmas became my favorite story in the Love at the Crossroads series. Solae had an emotional opening at Christmas and concluded the following Christmas. A Baby for Christmas was my bestselling Christmas novella to date with more than 1300 downloads in December 2013 and paid bills for months--Hallelujah. Good looking out Lisa and Vanessa! Day 16 of 25 Titles in December Stopping Traffic

I adjusted my titles so not to include the name of anthologies. The following month, August 2013, I introduced a story line I struggled with for almost a year. Originally, I had planned for Stopping Traffic to have an sequel. As the characters came to life, I envisioned the various scenarios couples face in relationships, so I created Love at the Crossroads series. Day 14 of 30 Titles in December

The Acquittal was my first release in 2013, first indie project and first novel with a back drop in another country. Ghana required more research than I had ever done in the Guilty series/Jamieson Legacy with African-American genealogy.  I did virtual tours of the African landscape, read blogs, and corresponded with a Ghanaian professor in Missouri to perfect the story. I maxed out the credit card to pay for the cover design, editor, proofreader and formatter. I wanted my transition from my traditional books to indie to be smooth. The best accolade came from a new reader who didn't believe I could do the story justice without having visited the continent. Here is a portion of what Karry Saunders wrote me weeks later:  "I worked at the American Embassy in Conakry, Guinea; Nouakchott, Mauritania; and Dakar, Senegal. I met & married a local Guinean woman while serving. You captured the true essence of many of my life's experiences. You took me back to times, dates, sights, sounds, smells, tastes, forming my marital delegations, & leaving the continent with my African Jewel. You hit the nail on the head, & never missed your target in your depictions. I enjoyed the read; impressed beyond measure. Thanks for making yourself available for God's use through your inspired writings." His words blessed my soul. Thank You Jesus that my efforts had not been in vain. Day 12 of 30 Titles in December A Mother's Love

A Mother's Love followed Words of Love in the summer of 2012. I guess you can say, I was jamming as I got the hang of writing novellas. This final story in the Making Love Work anthology was my favorite, since I like to write about realistic situations. A young teenage mother, who later surrendered to Christ, tugged at my heartstrings. Image a young woman who was about to become a mother of the bride and never had been a bride herself. Day 11 of 30 Titles in December Words of Love

What woman, or anyone for that matter, wouldn't be flattered to receive a love letter? In Words of Love, I continued the Making Love Work theme anthology a month after Love at Work was released. The short story was previously published in 2004 from an anthology with Parry EbonySatin Brown and Lisa Watson. Not only had my writing developed since I first penned the story, I had to update Words of Love with the modern perks, such as cell phones and satellite radio.
Image in this age of tech savvy folks where private information isn't private and a person can dig up dirt on anybody, especially a media personality like Simone French. Can Rice Taylor resist the temptation to use social media to learn everything he can about Simone, or will he reply on the power of images created from words written in a love letter? After all, sometimes, love is blind.

Day 10 of 30 Titles in December Love at Work

After the success of my first novella, Her Dress, I decided to create a novella series based on a theme rather than a cast of ongoing characters. In February 2012, Love at Work was the first novella released in Making Love Work, an anthology about people finding love against the odds. For ten years, I worked in a busy television newsroom. When it came to breaking news, our reporters were like cats chasing dogs--not the other way around. Haven't you seen the video of dogs terrorized of cats? LOL. In a news station, it was the norm for everybody to know everybody's business, whether they wanted to share it or not, so I couldn't resist planting an undercover romance in their midst.
